don't have access to global or private chat or basic commands

The server had gone down for a restart and took longer than usual to come back up. When i got back on, i tried to chat but the server said that i did not have access to global chat. After that, i tried msging someone, going to spawn, and going to my home, to which all of them told me that i did not have access.

 

Any suggestions?

The problem has been fixed. Not sure how, but i am able to chat again.

Try logging out and waiting a few minutes

When ever you get this problem just re-log, it will work.
