Compact Machines Getting Wiped

I don't know if this is the right place for this but I was curious why the compact machines dimension seems to be regularly wiped. It seems to me like it would defeat the purpose of building them if their contents get deleted. I created my first one last night, entered it, exited, went to go in tonight and build it out, only to get repeatedly ejected from it until I realized that it is now a solid cube of Wall blocks. Luckily I didn't lose anything, but it seems like the mod is useless if this is an intentional choice.
