Withers in spawn...?

i logged on for the day and played a bit, made some progress and decided to visit the spawn and vote for some keys and such. then i get a heart attack from 7 withers in the spawn, i was lucky enough to exit the game and ready a /home text to be tp right back to where i was.

 

 

what the hell? why are there withers in the spawn/lobby???
