Scoring 40 or more points in a NBA game is a great accomplishment, but fans really start to notice players when they score 50 or more points in a game. So far this season, there have been five players who scored 50 or more points in a game (one player did it twice, so their have been six 50 plus point games this season). Amazingly, three of the games came with eight days of each other, and two of the games happened on consecutive nights. Players are listed according to the amount of points they scored in a game. On January 24, 2014, Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks scored 62 points in a game vs the Charlotte Bobcats. The game marked the first time since February 2, 2009, when Kobe Bryant had 61 points, that a NBA player scored at least 60 points in a game. Carmelo Anthony's 62 points were the most in a NBA game since Kobe Bryant poured in 65 points in a game on March 16, 2007. The 62 points by Carmelo Anthony were a career high for him, a franchise record for the New York Knicks, and the most points ever scored by a NBA player in Madison Square Garden. In the game, Carmelo Anthony made 23 of 35 shots from the field, including six of 11 threes, and Melo was a perfect 10 for 10 from the free throw line to account for his career high 62 points. Carmelo Anthony also had 13 rebounds and zero turnovers in the game, which the Knicks won, 125 96. From a career Nfl jerseys china standpoint, scoring 62 points in a game really cements Carmelo Anthony's place as a great NBA scorer. When Kevin Durant won his first scoring title at age 21, I believe he became the youngest player to ever win a scoring title in NBA history. Kevin Durant is leading second place player Carmelo Anthony by over four points per game for the 2014 scoring title, and Durant will be almost impossible to stop for his fourth scoring title this year. In his 54 point game, Kevin Durant made 19 of 28 shots from the field, including five of nine threes, and he made 11 of 13 free throws to account for the career high 54 points.
