I have been trying to sell some hourglasses made via 'Chisels & Bits'. Items placed correctly into the marketplace. And I was able to buy it off the market by myself. Items stay in the market for some time, and then they disappear. I was not able to record at which exact time they disappear, but there are no traces of items, either in the market or my inventories and no money added to my balance - therefore these items were not bought off.
