Minecraft 1.9 Is Getting Really Close!

As Minecraft 1.9 Pre-Release 2 was released 2 days ago, the mojang team also announced that Minecraft 1.9 is expected to be released next week on 25th of February. Read full post here.

 

This means we will finally have Minecraft 1.9 available on clients and vanilla servers. To join our Network server you will need to use 1.8, until we finally update the entire network to 1.9.

 

The Spigot Team said that they expect to release the 1.9 server version the next day after mojang releases 1.9, so that means sometime on 26 February. This is great news because until now we had to wait up to 1 month to get a release of the new version. However we will have to see how stable the first releases will be and wait to have all the plugins updated for the new minecraft version and this may take some time. Spigot Team post.

 

A lot of work will require to update all servers to 1.9 but we will take care to make it as fast as possible. I will provide more details about this after we get the first releases of Spigot 1.9 to see how difficult this update will be first.
