Question regarding prefix

I have a question regarding the prefix you can buy. 

I bought the prefix pack, thinking it was to change the colour of your gamertag in chat. (I dont mind buying it again)

Is there a way to change the colour without going full premium or something like that?

ps: to clarify; I mean I only want to change the colour of my gamertag, don't really need a prefix.

Is there a pack I can buy to do so? I also dont want all the perks of premium or donator.

It seems that if you want to change your name colour, you need to buy atleast VIP.

It is not true that you need to purchase a rank (Vip, Premium, Sponsor) to receive a colored name.

All prefix packages in Direwolf20 1.12 version will change the color of your name along with giving you the prefix. However, the custom prefix in 1 color is the only package that will not give you a colored name. All other prefix packages include a colored name, including the custom prefix package with 2 colors.
