Launcher wont run/download

So I am trying to help my friend download the launcher and it wont even download nor does the regular technic launcher. I did have him download the latest version of java (64 bit )

His specs:

Ryzen 7 3700x

gigabyte b450-i motherboard

G.Skill F4-2933C14-16GTZRX ram

RTX 2080 Super

Silverstone 650 watt Gold rated Power supply

as soon as he clicks on run this app it starts to run and just closes instantly.

which java version exactly? since the launcher isnt compatible with java 9 and upwards. Tell him to download any java 8 version and to try it again.

Try to reinstall the launcher, if that doesn't fix it I would recommend you to use the Twitch launcher on windows.

ive never used the twitch app how would he go about installing?
