ComputerCraft Issues - New computers not starting up

I created a computer to control my reactor and turbine, and upon opening the window, all that was displayed was a black screen.

I thought it was linked to this reddit comment:

For some reason, the file lastid.txt in your world/computer folder (on the server) becomes blank.

Is it possible that this fix could be tried? Thanks in advance
