1.7.10 FTB Direwolf20 1.7.10 Server time for WIPE? Vote!

Hi guys,

The last server WIPE was on 28 September 2019, that's about 11 months ago. There is still room on the main map for new players, as of lag there are some bases laggy but it is fine for the most of the time. Let us know if you think it's time for a server restart on new map seeds and a fresh start for all.

The world is by far 2 small ... Borders should be at least 50k AND NOT the current 15k .. lag yes but if the server is lagging due to size of the over world then upgrade the server, mob spawning is always minimal due to plugins so I see almost no reason to keep a modded server world so small. If you are going to keep the current server as is then why wipe it? 12 months is by far too short of a time frame to wipe a modded pack over world unless you change something that impacts the pack as a whole. I am saying all this because I was one of your 1st players and so have the inherit right to make such forward comments other wise I would of not bothered. DW20 1.7.10 does not offer much at this stage so wiping it will only discourage it further ... my 2c worth

Hi, the world border isn't there for lag, it is there because the server runs from a RAM drive for best performance, and a RAM drive has limited space. By running it off a RAM we remove any latency caused storage and the server loads as fast as the CPU can. Looking into how much room on the map still is after almost 1 year the world is not too small, also all other worlds don't have a world border so there is plenty of exploration possible. Usually we check if a WIPE is desired by players after 6 to 8 months, depends on the modpack, sometimes players just what a fresh start and new map seeds, we also consider that the server is empty a lot of the time and traffic drops, a reset helps get players back.

My only wish is if we could get a real robust 1.7.10 mod pack like Augmented Triad or Divergence, even Unabridged would be nice. Not saying those exact mod packs but just one with Arsmagica and more.
