Banksia Slayer Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Hello Thought I'd try out the new Direwolf20 server, but can't login. The screen says it can't validate username. Since I can log into other servers without issue, not sure what causes the problem here. Quote
Banksia Slayer Posted May 13, 2024 Author Posted May 13, 2024 Still can't log in. I'm using the FTB launcher, works just fine for the Direwolf20 1.19 server. Anyone else familiar with this problem? I don't understand why only this server poses a problem. Quote
SnoopDawgrr Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 Same problem for me, i could log in 3 days ago but now it shows the same thing Its either "Can't validate username", "Internal Exception javaIOException: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine" or "Invalid player data" Quote
Banksia Slayer Posted May 21, 2024 Author Posted May 21, 2024 Hey SnoopDawgrr I've seen you on the list on players in the server since you posted this. Were you able to resolve the problem, or did it fix itself? I still can't join the server myself. Not sure what to make of this, clearly other players can join the server, so it's not just a server problem. But I was able to join a different Direwolf 1.20 server without issue, so it's not just an issue at my end. Quote

Banksia Slayer Posted May 22, 2024 Author Posted May 22, 2024 Hi Bruny When I try to join it gets to the "encrypting" stage of the loading screen, then returns the following error "failed to connect to the server Failed to verify username!" This is not an error I've seen before, and I've only encountered it on this server, as already mentioned. Quote

I've tried the FTB launcher, MultiMC, Prism, the latest version of the Craftersland launcher, same error each time, and I linked my Microsoft account on each one. Deathead45 on Discord mentioned a potential fix: Quote It's an AMP issue. So if you're using CubeCoders AMP the server owner will need to turn off disallow proxied connections. It can be found under configuration > server settings > disallow proxied connections. Quote
Banksia Slayer Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 Ok, that sounds like something only Bruny can fix. Quote
Banksia Slayer Posted June 2, 2024 Author Posted June 2, 2024 I think so, Bruny posted earlier, but never followed up. I've encountered another player who also has this issue, so there's at least four that I know of. I wonder if this is the reason why there are so few ppl on the new server. Anyway, let's hope it's resolved soon. Quote
Riis Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 @brunyman You'll probably sell more in the store if this is fixed McDonaldsSalad 1 Quote
Banksia Slayer Posted June 28, 2024 Author Posted June 28, 2024 Still can't get in. Given my unfortunate talent for finding bugs, maybe the Admins have decided it's safer for everyone if I stay locked out KragAap 1 Quote
KragAap Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 @brunyman *bump* There is a suggested fix posted in this thread. Has this been looked into? It has been more than a month of this issue persisting on the server. Quote
Featured Comment KragAap Posted July 1, 2024 Featured Comment Posted July 1, 2024 In the discord, I suggested this fix: Add the following line to your java prelaunch arguments for the modpack: -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true 2 people tried this and it fixed the issue for them. Riis 1 Quote
Banksia Slayer Posted July 5, 2024 Author Posted July 5, 2024 Thanks. Not sure where the prelaunch arguments would be, but I'll look into it. Is that the "Java runtime arguments" option in the FTB launcher? Quote

Banksia Slayer Posted July 6, 2024 Author Posted July 6, 2024 Cool. Might try this tomorrow then. What does this command actually do? Quote
KragAap Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 I have no clue! But all I know is that it works! My best bet would be that it forces the client to use a certain protocol when trying to connect to the server. Quote
Banksia Slayer Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 Thanks. I still couldn't join, but for a different reason - apparently I need to switch to the older version of the modpack the server uses. But your solution fixed the error. Soon, I will unleash my trains upon a new server! Maybe, haven't decided what to build yet. Quote
