Cyclic Inventory expander

I wanna know if there are any current issues with the inventory expander, i recently found out about it and i can't activate it keeps telling me that it's disabled and the only way to enable it is via eating a cake that is not in the recipes?
Is it completely disabled by the modpack on default or is it disabled by bruny or whoever runs that?

it should be disabled in the config (cyclicmagic.cfg) by default
