Voodoo
Hello This is neither a rollback nor a refund request. I have come across an issue ive not had since tekkit, since the new chunk loading system was implemented, my big reactors have been having the old bug of switching themselves off and wasting all the fuel in it, for me this was a significant amount, talking about 100k blocks of fuel. Im not sure how to go about fixing it rather than switching the reactor on and off every time i log in and out. Any suggestions?
Terminator
That was happening to me also, didn't pay much attention to it as i had a lot of fuel to waste anyways. Anyhow i think it happens because the reactor is in multiple chunks, try placing it in 1 chunk only. Altho by your fuel usage i'd say it's bigger than 16x16 so that might be impossible. Voodoo
You're afk atm i would show you, my reactors are of this dimension. 45 high x 16 x 16 They sit comfortably in one chunk So that's not the problem https://imgur.com/gallery/o56dD
Terminator
Right, i don't have an idea really then.
Founder brunyman Posted October 27, 2017 Founder Share Posted October 27, 2017 so the chunkloader keeps the chunk loaded when you leave?
Voodoo
No i think the problem is that it unloads the chunks, as it is supposed to do. but this causes issues with certain mods which don't play well with being unloaded and reloaded. Applied energistics for example doesn't like being unloaded and reloaded over multiple chunks, and Big reactors when the reactor is unloaded, it has the chance to bug out the next time it's loaded by heating the reactor up so high that it just burns through thousands of fuel in seconds, i've seen this before, a few times. Would it be possible to make the Saved loaders loaded all the time? and then any chunk loaders placed after the saved ones, be unloaded with the player leaving the server? This way it would minimise glitches with certain mods that don't like being messed around? [Edit] If it allows, maybe add new chunk loaders for donators which would be loaded all the time? so, 3 different types of chunk loaders - chunk loaders which are loaded all the time - maybe 4 per donator? or tiered with donator level? chunk loaders which are saved from being deleted- 4, as is currently set. and chunk loaders which would be unloaded when the player leaves? up to 15 maximum including the other loaders
Founder brunyman Posted October 30, 2017 Founder Share Posted October 30, 2017 but what this plugin does is it only prevents saved chunkloaders to be removed by the lag monitoring system, so these chunkloaders are not removed when the server is lagging, that is all it does, it does not change the way chunkloaders work, they work as did before
Voodoo
hmm, i'm unsure then, maybe the problem is with the chunkloaders unloading when the player leaves the server? Would there be any possibility of a 24/7 chunkloader? which only unloads when the server restarts?
Founder brunyman Posted November 4, 2017 Founder Share Posted November 4, 2017 We had them configured to unload when player disconnects always,, when this issue started?
Voodoo
Yes. I still had a couple problems before but theyre unavoidable. But the main issues began when the new chunk loading system was introduced. It happens most times i log in after a few hours of being offline. Founder brunyman Posted November 6, 2017 Founder Share Posted November 6, 2017 but if the reactors are off, how do they waste the fuel?
