It might depend if actual core (center of ball) is in loaded chunk, it might have all the stored power, or none, or something in between. If you really want to know you will have to do experiment. But my suggestion is do not build multiblocks like that. If they fit in one chunk build them in one chunk, or if you want it loaded all the time, use chunkloaders in all chunks multiblock occupy.
