Both modpacks will be talked about here now.

Hi everyone! Instead of having to constantly make new topics regarding information with this pack, I'm making this post so we can keep everything organized in one place.

This pack is all about technology and automation. There is very little magic involved; instead, this pack focuses on automating the world and resources around you. This pack contains classic tech mods like Applied Energistics, Thermal Expansion, and MineFactory Reloaded, plus extra not-so-well-known mods like Thermal Recycling and Advanced Generators. This pack aims to provide tons of different methods to automate things and gather resources, and the choice is yours for how you want to tackle it!

System Requirements

Technic Launcher v4.0 or later (cracked or original both work)

1.5 GB of RAM (minimum), 2 GB of RAM for optimal performance

64 Bit Java is required

Build Protections

The bulk of our protections will be provided by 3 plugins: MyTown 2, ItemRestrict, and PvPToggle. MyTown allows you to create claims chunk-by-chunk to protect what you own. Nearly every mod in this pack has supported code in MyTown, so you can be certain that your town will protect you from most things. ItemRestrict covers the "extras" that MyTown can't protect against, which is a fairly small list. PvPToggle enables further safety by enabling you to toggle your PvP status. Once set to "off", nobody can hit you with bows, swords, and other weapons until you enable PvP and they do too. If someone does hit you with PvP on, you'll get a chance to strike back, as your opponent won't be able to turn their PvP protection on for 30 seconds.

Updates and changes

You can follow the changes in the latest releases by clicking the "Main Menu" button in the game, or by going to this link: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/cl-updt.747803/changelog

Mod list

See a frequently updated list of mods available here: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/cl-updt.747803/help

Installing the Pack

The pack files are hosted an enterprise-grade file host (trust me, a lot better than Dropbox with no bandwidth limits). You can install the pack in the launcher, and grab the server builds from here: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/cl-updt.747803

You'll also see "server update" zips at that page. These contain only the modified files for each release, so you can easily unzip them over your existing server builds to update them without redownloading the whole thing!

Optional Mods

Some of these mods may be useful to you in certain cases, such as low performance. However, it's not recommended that you add them unless you need them.

The pack should be very stable and quick overall, with under 140 mods in the current release! If you find any issues please let me know. Thanks for reading!

I have a server host bought... it's not big.. only 2gb if you wanna try stuffs on it... I'm curently using to test a pack with 150 mods... it runs ok... tho never tested it with more than 3 players.

If there are other players here who really want to test the pack I think they'd like this, otherwise I think we can wait until Bruny gets the new host up and running :) Thanks for the offer!

Well, except, they don't have God mode. Players can still die any other way aside from PvP. It may be boring for players who play MC for the sake of PvP, but I know there are people out there who would love to just play survival and build and not have to worry about being 1-shot by an invisible person while they're out gathering resources, but they still want the experience of playing with others on a server. If a player wants to, they can turn PvP on, and they can only hit (and be hit by) other players who have PvP also turned on. Remember, on SkyFactory there is only a small PvP arena at spawn, and anywhere else PvP is disabled, and our SkyFactory server has still been successful.

Also, the interpretation of the wilderness can be heavily debated. Some people think of it as a PvP zone like you do, while others think of it as just an area away from home to gather resources. There's still plenty of vulnerability in the wilderness even with that plugin, because death by all other means is still enabled.

Problems rom? I bought it cuz I wanted to...

wouldnt it be better to just  to host on ur machine or himanchi tunnel?

Also Rmt skyfactory is a different game style, its not a player interaction server. I think a good idea would be to enable pvp, but keep inventory should be true . Therefore players can kill for fun, and people have safe items :D

Alright guys, I know this is a hot topic issue for the server, but like I said before, we should at least try it out and see how it goes. This isn't a permanent decision; this is just something to try out while opening a new server. If it doesn't go well we'll pull the plugin, simple. Everyone has different viewpoints on this, so let's keep this thread on discussion of the actual pack, not on PvP. Thanks.

Okay, also.. Plugin?

very confuse.

We have a plugin that allows players to turn pvp on/off

This way the ones who want to pvp can and the ones who are minding their own business only have mobs and lava etc to worry about.

Essentially it makes the game player friendly for both sides of the fence. The PVE'ers and the PVP'ers all get what they want.

Okay, I had a forum mod clean this up for me. So, like I said before, the plugin is optional, and we will just test it out for a few weeks and evaluate it. If it isn't working well, we will remove it from the server. So please don't use this thread for debating the plugin, we will just try it out and see how it goes, which I hope everyone is okay with doing.

Dont worry if u lose fastcraft, trust me not a big loss

For me it's provided some performance increase, and it hasn't caused nearly as many issues as optifine has caused when it was in the pack. But we'll see, if it causes more issues I'll look into removing it.

Optifine can be added if you want it, it's just not included by default.

I can include a link to the download on the main post.

PS: if you've played any of the recent versions of the pack fine, you don't need Optifine. It hasn't been included for some time.
