Vague Rule Definition , Incomplete List Of Banned Item

mightynight

Recommended Posts

1) incomplete list of banned items

-  e.g. world anchor, personal anchor , chunk loader, pulverized charcoal etc have not been listed in the FTB restricted item list

Suggestion: Update the list

2)Incomplete list of rule / imprecise of rule

A) Rules like no killing player for their items are used but not officially listed . Pkers in other dimensions keep deny the existence of this.

Suggestion: discuss whether they are necessary and update the list of rule  if yes

B) Rules that are unclear / overlap with each other / confuse player / not complete enough

E.g. [8] No Griefing Any Territory :

-1st offense = 2 day ban

-2nd offense = 5 day ban

-3rd offense = 14 day ban

(Includes everything that changes the environment of claimed land.)

(Includes any block, item, action, liquid, that can bypass protection.)

i) is this  Territory only limited to claimed town area or everywhere where players built/ inhabited?

If yes, this raise 2nd question .

[12] No In-Town Grief:

-1st offense = warning/kick from town.

-2nd offense = 2 day ban.

-3rd offense = 7 day ban.

(Includes being a friend, nation, or member of any town)

(You are not allowed to grief any towns, even your own)

(Corresponds with the Bug Abuse rule/punishments too)

ii) Arent this two rules sort of overlap ? This make people confused about the first rule.

[9] No Insulting Staff.

-1st offense = warning

-2nd offense = 24 hour mute

-3rd offense = permanent mute

(Includes private messaging using Computers, chat, books, signs.)

iii) Shouldn't prohibit insulting be applied to everyone?

This is a world of equality ( at least peoples are trying to reach it).

Extras (minor)

[7] No Excessive Use of Profanity/Swearing/CAPs:

 -1st offense = Warning

-2nd offense = 5 minute Mute

  -3rd offense = 30 minute mute

Usually CAPs would get kick / warned faster than profanity / swearing.

There may be more that I didnt find out.

Suggestion :reevaluate the rules and alter them if necessary

C) Rules Definition during rule enforcement

i) what is categorized as bug

E.g. Is staff of travel bypassing protected block/ inaccessible block bug

Someone that report it : https://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/1-0-3-staff-of-travel-allows-blink-through-thaumcraft-warded-blocks.62210/  From the mod developers page : https://github.com/SleepyTrousers/EnderIO/issues/1944

As you can see, the mod developers will fix this in future pack since they accept it as bug.

So how is bug defined , from majority player, mod developers or self opinion ?

suggestion : Fix way(s) to define whether one's action is bug or not.

ii) "controversy" , different opinion during rule enforcement

Some may think a particular action is wrong but some do not.

Suggestion: Cant think of anything better than discuss in forum

Conclusion : An immediately change is highly recommended for a better experience to everyone.

Yes and not only that. All pulverized dusts I think are banned because of the techtonic bucket thingy. Those need to be reviewed,  brunyman.

As for the rules... Will be fixed soon.

The EnderIO sword The Ender or the Staff of Traveling are meant to teleport thru blocks. There is no bug. If you don't like it, feel free to report it to mod devs. Tho you can't do anything now, since the modpack won't be updated, even if the teleporting feature is disabled by devs.

So find workarounds. Deal with the situation in a different way to make it work.

Some pulverized dusts were banned because the IDs to ban were wrong.

Rules are being reviewed.

Again, the Ender IO stuff IS NOT A BUG, it's a feature! This server uses MyTown as a protection system, if you don't want to use it, it's your problem.
