items lost in another mans town

i was flying about trying to find a great place for "stuff" when i fly besides this guys blaze spawner. and i know it was a blaze spawner and they litterally sniped me down... and i died. i thought to myself "oh well i can get back and get em" but no. its apparently impossible to pick up the stuff in another mans town.  i lost a resonant jetpack that i got from a legendary chest and half a stack of diamonds emeralds rubys and sapphires.
