flamefurno
Can we perhaps claim the spawn area in the Nether and turn off damage like we did with the normal spawn? This would safe a lot of people dying in the claimed area and asking for GM's or above to help them out getting their grave back. And if people die outside of the claim, they can just break their grave, so there would be no issue with that.
TheO0032
There are some servers where you have an unbreakable room at spawn, no PvP allowed, no damage taken, nada. Once you go out, you cannot go back in - without using a command, that is. Maybe something like that would work better.
Henk
Problem is that nether gets reset often and so does any protection you put there. Anyways, I put a region there now that is 50x50, and you can bridge out at the end of that. mob spawning denied, and pvp also.
Founder brunyman Posted June 8, 2018 Founder Share Posted June 8, 2018 wasn't there already a region there? now there are 2, with same flags
llaya [LayaElisabeth]
there is no need to protect the nether from mobs and pvp, since everything you can get in the nether, you can also get on your island in the overworld with the exception of thornvines and sulfur clouds (and who needs those?) By dropping overworld mobs in witch water you can create some of their nethercounterparts; Skeleton for wither skeleton, pig for zombie pigman and a squid turns into a ghast. Other materials like blaze rods you can get from loot bags (and blaze dust from sieving dust). Furthermore it is possible to set your island biome to "hell" which allows all nethermobs to spawn AND provides the right conditions to get lust shards for thaumcraft. All this kinda makes the actual nether a privilege, not a right. Even in Vanilla, the nether is on your own risk, we should invest more in advising and informing players about safer alternatives rather than to keep childproofing everything. + the most important rule in SkyFactory that many seem to forget is; if you're not ready for it, don't do it, cause others will have to clean up after you.
