YouAreNowOP Posted August 7, 2016 Share Posted August 7, 2016 This is a very simple tutorial on how to install OptiFine for Tekkit! This will give you a massive FPS boost, 30-80+ fps boost! Very helpful and makes your game smoother. There are also many other cool features included in OptiFine. There are no downsides to installing this mod and millions of players already use it! Step 1 Go to this link http://optifined.net/adloadx?f=OptiFine_1.6.4_HD_U_C8.jar This is not a virus, you can scan it all you want. Click the blue text that says "Download OptiFine_1.6.4_HD_C8.jar" and it will download. I'm sure most of you have done this before. The problem is, the mod author's website ( http://optifine.net/downloads ) , no longer shows old versions. Tekkit is Minecraft version 1.6.4, and the mod author's download page only goes to 1.7.2 at the lowest if you scroll down all the way. So, the only way to get OptiFine version 1.6.4 is through external, unofficial download sites. People kept the .jar and reuploaded it to other websites for people that need it. So, the author no longer has his official download for OptiFine 1.6.4, so I have no choice but to use it from a website that decided to share it unofficially. Also, I don't see how this isn't "legal". I'm not generating any revenue or profit from the link. It is legal to distribute the file in any way, as stated in the privacy policy on his site. It may be not be reproduced under any circumstances except for personal, private use as long as it remains in its unaltered, unedited form. It may not be placed on any web site or otherwise distributed publicly without advance written permission.
