Unprotected Land Griefing, Dumblore

Title: Griefing, Dumblore

In-Game Nickname: Dumblore

Time and date: 11:35 GMT 28th of August

Description of what happened: In the process of building a small mining workshop I was killed and subsequently had all machines and likewise placed in the area taken. As I had only just begun construction of the area, I was yet to make a claim and as such I am not sure if this is a violation of the rules, so in part this post is also to request confirmation regarding the rules of griefing unprotected areas.

Though I don't think screenshots can validate this scenario (granted that I have none of prior to the items being stolen), I do have my chat logs as follows:

Under 'Community rules' it is stated that "Players are not allowed to destroy any of a player's work by any means." however in the Tekkit rules it only explicitly states 'protected land' which leads to my uncertainty as to whether or not this was a breach of rules. If it was not a breach of rules, thank-you for your taking the time to review this complaint. Though I am not particularly bothered by this, I have witnessed this player making the general experience of playing on the server less enjoyable for others through similar treatment and I would not want it to continue in a way that negatively detriments the server

My town's mayor would also be able to confirm that I did have these items if necessary.

EDIT:
I should add that given the close proximity to our town's claimed land and my presence/current use of the machines inside, as well as a sign placed on the door, it was clear that this was a current build and not something vacated.

In My Opinion it didn't breach any rules as it wasn't in someone's protected base so it's fair game if you plan on making any sort of contraptions outside your town I don't suggest it as it's a huge risk until you claim the area itself.

 

So Next time claim the land first then build.

This does fall in one of those grayzones, it's not against the rules to take machines from unprotected area (that's why we have mytown) but it's also not a nice thing to do...

If you find machines, chests etc. in the wild and there's nobody around, you are free to take it. However to kill someone and then steal their items would be seen as griefing.

It's a complicated matter, but as long as it's not protected, it is not against the rules.

That is suppose to be allowed. The server should have the pvp off if that isn't allowed.

Well, forgot to add that TP'ing to people just to kill them is griefing. But attacking people who have no interest in PVP is a matter of decency. Don't attack people who don't want to pvp.

I didn't claim it, I just took a single furnace in an unclaimed chunk after killing him. XD
