Mrbatman
MyTown -Tutorial Last Updated : 29-Jul-2014  Hello , In This tutorial i will teach you how to use the commands and Permission (aka Perm) in MyTown. There are literally no good tutorials and maybe this will help people within the community as well as the others who might find it.  This tutorial will show you have to use the permission part of MyTown , This will protect you from almost all greif's This is quite a huge part of MyTown and is in my opinion vital to know how to use these command for yourslef or to teach others who may need this.  First We shall start of with the basic/Important Permission and the basics of how to make a command work .  First let us start with the basics . What is a town ? How can i make one . Answer: A town is made so that people do not greif other people , It is inplace so that you do not get greifed and are safe from getting raided.  [tekkit] To make a town you will need to get 6 ash , To get ash you have to vote on this server , You can obtain ash by typing /ifo vote and voting on any 3 links , For voting on 1 link you get 2 ash make sure you type your exact username ! and then you can do /mytown create [name for your town] to create your town and automatically claim your first chunk. After that you can use /mytown claim at the cost of 2 ash to expand , You can only claim in the wilderness ! [FTB] To make a town you simply use the command /town create [name for your town]. After that, to expand your town you need to buy a book at spawn called "Town Claim" and right click with it in the desired chunk. The book cost 5 industrial credits, that are obtainable only by voting at the sites listed when you write /ifo vote How can I add a friend to my town? In case you dont want to live alone, and you found a friend to play with, you have 2 options: 1. You can use the command /town invite [player name] and it will add him as a town member. 2. You can use the command /town friend add [player name] and it will add him as a town friend. This is for people that their friend is already living in a different town. You can edit their permissions, which will be explained later in the permissions section. What is a nation ? How do i make a nation ? How Do i invite another town into my nation Answer: A Nation is a group of towns made joined togeather to form a group ,To make a nation is free , All you have to do is /MyTown Nation New [Nation name] , To invite a town to your nation Do /mytown nation invite [Town name] What are town permissions? How do I use them? To make a perm (aka Permission) , You need to add a few basic words to begin with. First for all the MyTown permission you always need to do /mytown . you can also use /town if you are lazy  Second we want to change the permission so we need to write /mytown perm Third we want to change the permissions in our town, so we use /mytown perm town (not that you can /town perm plot instead to change the permissions only in the plot that you are standing in) Forth we want to set the perm so we need to do /mytown perm town set Fifth, we want to tell which permission you want to change so you write /mytown perm town set [permission]. A list of permissions is written in the next section. And at last, you want to state if you want to enable or disable the permission, so you add True or False at the end (there are some permissions that need other inputs and that will be specified in the next section) So, at the end, we wind up with this command: ( | means either one of them) /mytown perm [town|plot] set [permission] [true | false] Example: /mytown perm town set mobsoff true  Now we are done ! We just need to choose what permission we want to change i shall make a list of all the executable permissions !    MyTown Permission List !  /MyTown Perm Town Set Town Build/Enter/Loot/Access This permission is simple and has 4 options , build will let the people that belong to your town to build inside it , Enter will allow them come inside your town but that is it , They can not build. Loot will allow them to pick up items on the ground, and Access will allow them to open inventories like furnaces and chests. /MyTown Perm Town set Nation Buid/Enter/None/Loot/Access This command has 3 options , Build which will let your nation members build inside your town , Enter which will make them enter in your town but they can not do anything else , None which will make sure none of your nation members can enter your town.Loot will allow them to pick up items on the ground, and Access will allow them to open inventories like furnaces and chests. /MyTown Perm Town Set Out Build/Enter/None/Loot/Access This command has 3 options , Build which will let outsiders who are not in your town build inside it , Enter which will make outsiders be able to enter your town and nothing else , None which will make sure they can not enter your town. Loot will allow them to pick up items on the ground, and Access will allow them to open inventories like furnaces and chests. /MyTown Perm Town Set Friend Build/Enter/None/Loot/Access This command has 3 options , Build lets your friend Build inside your town , Enter will make them only able be enter your town and none will make sure they can not enter your town.Loot will allow them to pick up items on the ground, and Access will allow them to open inventories like furnaces and chests. /MyTown Perm Town Set Carts True/False This command is a very nice one , It makes sure outsiders or people who should not be able to play with your carts should not be able to interact with the cart Or damage it in anyway by riding it and such. True makes outsiders be able to play with your carts and false makes sure they can not interact with your carts in your town. /MyTown Perm Town Set Steverailer True/False This command has 2 options , True allows Steve railer carts allowed in your town and false makes sure they can not be placed or allowed in your town , if they are placed when it is false , MyTown will destroy it , but you can pick it up again. /MyTown Perm Town Set SteveMiner True/False This command has 2 options , True Which will allow Steves miners in your town so that they can be placed , And false will destroy any steve miner inside your town , Either if they come from outside or are placed from the inside , Just like steveRailer. /MyTown Perm Town Set rcBore True/False This command has 2 options , True allowed RcBore and False Does not. /MyTown Perm Town Set Bc True/False True allowes Build Craft machines such as Fillers , Quarry , Builders inside your town , False Does not allow you to place any of the named items inside your town . If placed it will be broken and you can pick it up again. /MyTown Perm Town Set CCTurtles True/False True Will allow ComputerCraft Turtles inside your town and False will not , I highly recommend keeping it false unless you need it or else you could get greifed by it since it is the number one greif tool for bypassing MyTown when set to True. MyTown Perm Town Set CloseClaim True/False This is a simple command , Normally MyTown wont let you claim to close to another town , If you try you will get them "To Close to another Town" Error , If you set this to true you will be able to claim right next to his boundary, False will leave a little gap between him and you if he is close to you. /MyTown Perm Town Set KillMobs True/False This when set to true ( It is true by default ) will let outsiders kill mobs when inside your town , If set to false they will not be able to kill mobs inside your town. /MyTown Perm Town Set CreepOff True/False This has a funny name ''Creep off'' lol But it is not what you think , It is about creepers explosion , If set to true Creeper explosions wont do any damage , If set to false it will. /MyTown Perm Town Set TntOff True/False Setting it to true will make tnt explosions do no damage, False will make it do damage to the players , It is a very good command to protect your town from tnt cannons /MyTown Perm Town Set Mobsoff True/False Setting it to true will make sure mobs do not spawn in your town , Setting it to false will make mobs spawn inside your town. /MyTown perm Town Set FireballOff True/False A Fire ball for example is one from a blaze or a wither. Setting it to true will make sure fireballs do not come inside your town, Setting it to false will allow fireballs inside your town. 29-Jul-2014 _____________________________________________________________________________________  This is the list of permission codes out right now , I will update it as and when necessary , In the case i do not , Please update it and try to keep it update as much As you can , Thanks !  Feel Free to add more content or fix any mistakes made, I will update and modify if any change needed , if you have any suggestions please write it below and i shall help you with the problem or suggestion you want to be placed or helped with.  Thankyou for reading, Mrbatman | Danielkinz Special Thanks to Dan for adding all the FTB stuff and fixes ! Danielkinz
I added something new that I found - in the town/out/friends/nation perms you can also set Loot and Access. Loot is allowing to pick up items, and access will allow to open inventories like furnaces and chests. Topic moved to tutorials becouse its a tutorial topic and not a tekkit related topic Mrbatman

Royalogic
Forgive me, I misspoke what I was looking for. I have ran towns before and the commands i'm used to having access to, I don't seem to be able to do or am unable to access there specific help menu's. What I am looking for is the list of cmds for the separate groups. i.e. /plots Any help would be grateful.
Jimmel
That is because this is not the Towny plugin you were probably used to. This is the myTown mod. You can access the menu with /town help, and by doing /town you can find information about your town and see what players are in it. Again, /town help will list the sub commands for you I believe.
