Mrbatman reacted to DonVanhugenstyn in [Guide] Tekkit Town Protection Commands
We have many possible commands that can be set in place to help protect you guys beyond our plugins.
So to help protect you guys im going to help you guys out. Alot of these are known but not by everyone.
To keep all outsiders out of your town use /town perm town set out none
That command would prevent all outsiders from entering the towns claimed land, It will not affect town members, or town friends. Town friends can be added by town mayor, and town assistants.
And one I always make sure to set in place is /town perm town set friends enter
There should be little reason to give a friend build perms, though sometimes there is reason. And by default friends get build perms. If you have a reason to give a friend build perms make sure that after you set it back to /town perm town set friend enter
And my favorite of all applies to town residents, but not town assistants.
You can set plot permissions, a plot is 1 chunk. which is 16x16.
To do this you enter /assignplot <name>
That will make that chunk owned by whoever's name you put example /assignplot DonVanhugenstyn
Once you do that town residents who do not own that plot get reduced permissions, and you can use commands to change them. like /town perm plot set town enter which would allow town residents to enter but no build perms. Once you use /assignplot <name> it automatically takes on whatever perms the town has set but you can as I said change the perms for that specific plot.
With /assignplot you can have members within your town and not worry about theft. If someones gained your trust you can promote them to town assistant and then the plot assignments wont affect them. However please be careful who you let into your town and give assistant rank to. We cannot stop anyone from stealing from you if you have given them permissions to allow them to do so.
/town perm town -will give you current town permissions set
/town perm plot -will give you the current set permissions of the plot you are in
to change entire town permissions is /town perm town set <name> <permission>
ex. /town perm town set out none - out is the name, none is the permissions, meaning "out" gets "none" meaning no permissions to outsiders, not even entry into the town
to change plot permissions is /town perm plot set <name> <permission>
ex. /town perm plot set town enter -means your setting the plot permissions for "town" to "enter" so residents can enter but nothing else. remember town mayor and town assistants aren't affected by plot permissions though.
Remember, choose your town assistants wisely. They can do everything a mayor can except delete the town.
This is the list of MyTown Commands, not all are enabled. http://mytown.mineyourmind.net/mytown/

Mrbatman reacted to Jack in [Guide] Starting Out On Tekkit
For anyone new, who wants to learn a bit more about starting out on Tekkit, this is a place for you to hopefully get some tips, and a little more insight to how you can start out.
Note: Tekkit comes with NEI. This will indefinably help you with crafting. I am only putting crafting recipes for the fact.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Basics
First things first, you follow a normal minecraft start. You would start by collecting basic resources, like wood, coal, iron, ect. The first modded block you craft by my recommendation is the Quartz Grindstone. The Quartz Grindstone acts almost like a pulverize, but instead of using power, and you get a 90% chance of doubling, instead of 100%. uses manual cranking via the crank shaft (left click). This will effectively double your resource output, and give you the extra head start towards automated machines and power.
Quartz Grindstone Crafting:
http://ae-mod.info/Quartz-Grindstone/
Wooden Crank(required with Grindstone):
http://ae-mod.info/Wooden-Crank/
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Resource Collection
So now that you have basic doubling of resources available to you, now, you need to get the resources. A more common ore that I personally like early game is a Peridot, Sapphire, or Ruby pickaxes. They last around 1/2 as long, but mine the speed of diamond. All of these are crafted as a a pickaxe is normally crafted, with the respective materials in the place of the head.
A ruby, sapphire or peridot sword does the same amount of damage as diamond, but lasts about 1/2 as long. Crafting is the same, with respective materials in place.
I would personally recommend mining a couple hours before going to the next step. You will always need these resources, especially if you want to stop manually pulverizing ores. Only go on to the next step if you have a total of about 64 copper, 32 tin, 12 gold, and 16 silver.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Starting Power
So you are on the verge of getting carpal tunnel from mining, and operating the grindstone. It's time to start power. First of all, make a cresent hammer. It is important.
There is different tiers of power, 1 being earliest, 6 being end game.
Tier 1 (You!) - Dynamos
Tier 2 - Big Reactors' Reactor
Tier 3 - Big Reactors' Turbines
Tier 4 - Atomic Science Fission Reactors
Tier 5 - Atomic Science Fusion Reactors
Tier 6 - Atomic Science Fulmination Generators
Your first power will most likely always be some type of dynamo, I recommend a steam dynamo. It is efficient, easy, and outputs a really good amount of power. For this basic system, you will need the following:
- Steam Dynamo
- 1 Fluiduct, with pneumatic servo
- 1 Aqueous Accumulator
- 2-3 Leadstone energy conduits.
- 1 Leadstone energy cell (optional)
- Coal or charcoal (a good amount)
Crafting:
Steam Dynamo
Aqueous Accumulator
Leadstone Energy Conduits
Leadstone Energy Cell (Not required)
Fluiducts
Cresent Hammer
Note: If you have for example a oil spring near your base, you may want to use a compression dynamo, because the resource is plentiful at your location. If you did this, replace your steam with compression, and again use the water as coolant.
Pictures of a possible setup.
After you have your power setup, you are ready to make a few basic machines. The two most basic machines are the Redstone Furnace and the Pulverizer. A pulverizer uses energy to do what a grindstone does, but with a 100% chance of success, and small chances for other minerals you may need. You may need additional conduits if you have not made them. After you have stabilized power, I highly recommend getting yourself a quarry.
Crafting:
Redstone Furnace
Pulveriser
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quarries and the next tier power
If you want to start running things like quarries, you will need to up your power tier. My reccomendation, is not to spam steam dynamos, but make a small reactor. I cannot explain to you Big Reactors that well in text, it is a very complicated mod. Here is a good tutorial I found.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sev05VJkgAY
Quarries. You will need one at some point, and this is where you become a novice, rather than beginner.
Items needed:
- Quarry
- Some type of storage
- Diamond pipe
- Trash can
- Conduits
- A power source
By default when you place down a quarry, it will do a 1 chunk area. If you want to expand this, use landmarkers. For now, this should be good.
Your diamond pipe and trash can are important to filter out junk you don't want to be collected. Chose whatever resources you DO NOT want, and put them into the colored end facing.
Note: It is very important you have more space than you will need, if it overflows, you will not only lose your items, but it will cause stress on the server.
Filter Pictures:
Setup Pictures:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That concludes my beginner guide, feel free to message me in game or on my forum profile if you have any questions.
I hope this helped anyone who is interested in starting on the Craftersland cracked Tekkit server.

Mrbatman reacted to quagma in ComputerCraft Mod - Pastebin Programs
My brother made these scripts for ComputerCraft mining turtles, and I wish to share them with the world.
http://pastebin.com/Vm1PDmkW
http://pastebin.com/BgmBvBFm
To get these, type into your turtle:
pastebin get Vm1PDmkW stairmine or
pastebin get BgmBvBFm bridge These will, respectively, make a stair mine, or make a bridge.
To use the first one, type in stairmine [width] [length], where width is how wide you want it, and length is how long you want it. Be sure to fuel it up before starting the program, as it doesn't auto refuel. It will also put down a block below it, if there is a liquid or emptiness below it. It will use the block it has most of in it's inventory. The stair mine is four blocks tall, in case you want to put stairs down, or in case you don't want to keep hitting your head as you hop from block to block. Useful for making a mine. When it hits bedrock, it makes a tunnels along the bedrock. Be warned, though, if it goes under lava, it can be tricky to get out!
Example:
stairmine 3 25 will mine a stairway that is 3 blocks wide, and 25 blocks deep.
The second script, bridge, is for, you guessed it, making bridges that are one block wide. Refuel before beginning. To use, type in bridge [length], where length is how long you want the bridge. Put in blocks of the type you wish to use in slot nine. It will tell you if it's correct. If it finds blocks in slot nine, it will start to build a bridge out of the materials you selected. Useful for getting across gaps.
Example:
bridge 64 will create a one block wide bridge that is 64 blocks long.
I hope you enjoy these!

Mrbatman reacted to Danielkinz in Thaumcraft 101 For Skyfactory
Before we start
I know what some player may say: "Why not just to watch a mod spotlight or to read the wiki?"
Well, the answer is easy. Thaumcraft has alot of world gen stuff, that you cant get in skyfactory, making it impossible to play with thaumcraft in the normal way. That is the reason why there is a special section in the thaumonomicon to get worldgen stuff (I'll talk about it later), but its a little bit hard to get the items if you dont know what to do. Thats why I made this tutorial.
Since alot of skyfactory players dont know the mod at all, I'll make this tutorial for brand new players.
Where do we start?
Scanning and research
Crafting
Usefull Items
Worldgen
This is pretty much it about thaumcraft. Everything you need to know is written either here or in the thaumonomicon.

Mrbatman reacted to Danielkinz in MyTown Mod - Permissions And More !
I added something new that I found - in the town/out/friends/nation perms you can also set Loot and Access. Loot is allowing to pick up items, and access will allow to open inventories like furnaces and chests.
Topic moved to tutorials becouse its a tutorial topic and not a tekkit related topic

Mrbatman reacted to niqf in Minefactory Reloaded Mod - Bioenergy Tutorial
Today I will attempt to teach you how to setup a system so that you may power whatever it is you may need. For the purpose of teaching, this will be done in a creative gamemode. We will be using the most efficient power source in the game, which is Biofuel. Biofuel is the "Smelted" produce that gets made from the BioReactor. The Biofuel is then fed into Biofuel Generators where it will be harnessed into a suitable form of power.
This system is made up of three different parts. There is the Sewage, Farm, and the Generators. Each parts plays a key role in this system and will allow it to function properly.
The materials you will need include.
Planter Harvester Composter Sewers (10 or less should work) Fertilizer (The machine) BioReactor Biofuel Generator 32 Redstone Conduits (Suggested) 32 Liquiducts (Suggested) 32 Stone Transport Pipes 1 Diamond Transport Pipe 2 Insertion Pipes (Purple Coloured) 4 Iron Transport Pipes
The list above is a comprised of the key components for this build!
To get started you want to have a 7x7 setup with a frame setup around it (Block of your choice). It should look like this.
Following that you want to dig a two deep whole in the centre of this and place a Planter within the hole. Following that you want to place the Harvester on the wood frame that is aligned with the Planter. When that is done you want to dig away and setup something that resembles the following images.
The BioReactor and the Biofuel Generator should be positioned like this with a Liquiduct connecting the two to allow the reactor to drain the fuel into the generator. A Insertion Pipe must be hooked up under the Planter and the BioReactor. This will allow the items to travel on should the machine be filled up already. After the Planter the pipes should lead to the BioReactor and should lead into the chest should everything be filled already. The piping is now done and we can safely move onto the wiring of this system.
The wiring should look like the screenshot this.
Be sure that the Fertilizer and the Composter are in place like the image above. The farm part is now done, you could just leave it this way if you'd like. However, without the fertilizing part it will be slow and may not support your system fully. You could make a larger farm by using Upgrades but that won't be necessary seeing as it won't be as efficient. At this point the farm should look cleaned up and look like the image below. Now we may get to work on making an area for the animals.
There are two ways you could go about this. Either you make one Sewer and give it a far ranged upgrade or make the whole ground in which the animals will stand on all sewers. The more logical solution would be the one sewer with a far ranged upgrade. If you were to make the ground all Sewers it would gain much more poop and hence, make your production rate much faster. Seeing as this will be a floor full of Sewers you'd want to line the bottom with Liquiducts and connect it to the Composter. Following that you want to place the Sewers as the image below will show.
Next step is to go get some kind of animal in there. You can get any kind but either pigs or cows would be suggested seeing as they apparently poop more. An easy way to do this would be using Safari Nets seeing as they can trap a mob inside it for a long period of time before it dies. You want a nice full area that is filled with animals in order to max out your poop production rate.
The link above is the final product, all there is left to do is finish it up. Now that everything is in place you want to go make yourself some Upgrades, 3 Iron Upgrades to be exact. There will be one inside the Planter, Harvester, and Fertilizer (The machine).
The image above is what the Upgrade should look like in the machine. The planter in the image above was configured to allow every third to grow a different type of produce. That can be configured with the colourful square to the left. The blocks with the produce are to help regulate the amount the planter will take in. All that is left to do is throw in some type of produce into the BioReactor to start making BioFuel so that power can be generated.
The image above shows how the configuration of the Diamond Pipe should be set up. Wheat should go directly to the chest while the rest go down so that they can feed the Planter and BioReactor. To harness the power you want to connect Redstone Conduits to the Biofuel Generator. I think that pretty much covers it. Here is the look at the final product.
This forum post is so colourful
Thank you for your time.
