G_G_Marvel reacted to JokoJose in Remove GMC from ranks ~ Under Discussion
    Greetings,

For the past week i have seen how people that use creative and those that doesn't have had a crash between them.  For players that don't use creative, we feel like creative is a game breaking addition and disturb the "race" to reach high tiers among ourselves. For example, If it took me 1 week to reach LV, a creative person will be ZPM in less than 1 hour. While them being in high tier does not affect the way we play, it does affect the server stability.
    Example:
1- A creative person can spawn in any number of item without limitation, allowing that person to set up an entire solar power system in a matter of minutes. Or many, Many automated process to produce items. Those process take a toll on the server tps and because the creative person in question didn't have to gather the mats, he/she will have no problem spawning as many as he/she want.
2- Creative people can spawn the materials to craft a machine, while the materials are tagged as spawned, the machine they build with those spawned items are not tagged as spawned. Meaning that the person in question can craft machines to give to a non-creative player.
3- Creative people can also spawn the most efficient way of mining ores and/or oil and once again, while the machine, if spawned, is tagged as spawned, the ores/oil it gathers is not tagged as spawned. Meaning that the creative person in question can pass the ores/oil to another person that is not creative.
4- Creative people can also instantly spawn rockets of any tier and fly to any planet, even when most people are still in steam age. Then they can just fly to highly demand planets and "empty" them out of resources before people can even reach them.
5- Creative people can also lagg the server with in many ways, from massive amount of spawned item, to constantly flying to laggy planets like ross.

In other words, creative ranks hurt the server more than what it helps it. So my suggestions are the next:
1- Remove creative entirely = While i know creative might generate a good revenue for the server, it shouldn't exist in such a hardcore modpack like GTNH.
2- Only allow structural block on creative = This will still give the creative to those that want it, but will limit them to only structural items to build a base. Like chiseled blocks, but remove access to any ore/ingot/fuel/machinery or any material that is not used to build the structural part of a base.
3- Creative server only = while this is more cost to owners pocket, it will create 2 separated server, 1 for creative people and one for non creative people. In that way you dont have to be monitoring who gives what to whom. It will also remove the stress cause by creative people on server with non-creative players.
4- Move creative rank to S+ but with structural purpose only = Creative is the strongest tool in the game, it should be the most expensive perk to buy too, but it should be limited.

Only those that have played GTNH will understand the issue with creative, so my last recommendation is for the owner to try the modpack and then decide for himself after he experience the modpack and the pros and cons of creative. You cannot sell a product if you don't understand it, sometimes you might lose more money when your only focus is money and not customer service.

I meant no disrespect to anyone, everyone is welcome to add their opinion in a respectful way, either to agree with me or disagree. Everyone deserves to be read.

(On a side note, P+ has a perk of retain exp when you die, but that perk is not working at all, please take a look at it, thanks)

G_G_Marvel reacted to Henk in Wand of Animations - Unrestricted
The Wand of Animation has been a hot debate ever since we launched the server. We, the server managers, decided to limit the usage of the Wand of Animation to be blacklisted inside the Mob Duplicator due to the duplicative nature of this item.
For those that have never heard of either of these items or simply have no idea what I'm talking about - With this wand you are able to "animate" blocks, turning them into entities. If you then capture that mob in a Mob Imprisonment Tool you are then able to spawn them repeatedly with little to no cost. It's also worth pointing out the mob also drops the block when you kill it.
The question of "lag" also arose when discussing this item- as relatively large setups needs to be built in order continuously spawn in these mobs. Some argue that it's less lag than the alternative, but for some bizarre reason, with this version of Minecraft and with sponge, mob entities are usually the laggiest chunks on the server. 10-15 mobs outweigh hundreds of machines. That's pretty crazy.

But because players have been really persistent about wanting this item to work fully, I have decided that we are going to give it a try. For a short while this item will be removed from the blacklist on the Mob Duplicator. The point of this is to run a test to see if it's viable for server performance to have this item unbanned, and the idea is to run this test for 7+ days, but if it comes to it being ridiculously laggy then we may cancel the test early.
This however, comes with it's own restrictions and a few things you should know if you plan on using it:

Items gained from using the Wand of Animation, as well as EMC gathered from the Wand of Animation, is not allowed to be sold, traded or given to other players. This will count as an offense against Rule 4. Don't go overboard. The point of this test is to see if we can really have it unrestricted, if you, yourself, lag out the server with the mindset of "It's only unbanned for a few days, I gotta get the most out of it!" you are not only hurting yourself but also the playerbase.
A few disclaimers- We reserve the right to limit the functionality of the animated blocks, when it comes to spawn rates, drop chances, etc. But for now it's all default.
If staff find setups that cause unnecessary lag on the server they have the right to demand you to either turn the setup off or tear it down. If you are not compliant or unreachable, either or those things may be done for you, with no option for a Refund Request.
And in extreme cases it can be punishable according to Rule 12

    Auction Guide!
    Server IP: dw20.craftersland.net

This is gonna be very short guide .
DW20 1.10 uses different Auction plugin than other plugin and hence different commands.
Don't ruin ingame server economy by auctioning or selling items for very cheap price or giving it away for free!

    Auctioning
In this plugin you can't auction more than a stack at a time. But one advantage is there is no auction queue, multiple auctions can happen at same time. To auction, have item you want to auction in your hand and use /ia auction <starting bid>.
    For example: /ia auction 200

    Cancelling
You can cancel your auction using /ia cancelauction. If no one is interested in your auction and bidding then end your auction before you forget.

    Bidding
Because more than one auction can be going on at same time bid command is little different.
/ia bid <name of player who is auctioning> <bid amount>. Minimum bid amount is set by auctioneer, except that there is no bid increment so you can increase bid by even 1$ if you want. But spamming chat with bids is against rules.
For example I am (my IGN is Virtmo) auctioning something for 200$: /ia bid Virtmo 201

    Ending Auction
This plugin doesn't have time limit so you have to manually end the auction. When you do /ia acceptbid it will accept last bid that was offered and that person will win the auction.
Little trick for when you forget the commands, use /ia a(or any letter or number). It will say "not valid command" and show you available ones.

G_G_Marvel got a reaction from craftyguy23 in [FTB Direwolf20 1.7.10] How to fix a bug with pneumatic helmet
Hello. Here I will explain the bug with pneumaticcraft and how to fix it.
If you make(or spawn) a pneumatic helmet from PneumaticCraft and place it on your head armour slot, you are now stuck in bug loop. From that point, when you try to open your inventory, you will now see GUI of pneumatic helmet, not your inventory. It is an issue with NEK(Not Enough Keys) mod and PneumatiCcraft. To solve this you need to open configuration file of PneumaticCraft.
To do this go to [Where your modpack is installed]\config\PneumaticCraft.cfg
Find 'third_party_enabling' and change 'B:notenoughkeys=true' to 'false'.

More about this can be found at:

G_G_Marvel reacted to fdedraco in Forestry trading tutorial
now i'm making this tutorial for people who want to use forestry mod for trading purpose.
because there's no player shop plugin yet, and we need some sort of trading for following purpose:
reducing the amount of machines deployed and idle in server (one off machine that never used) sending/ receiving items safely between player (reduce the risk of tpkill and stuff) stocking item for sale is automateable via pipe, so a sophisticated enough setup can allow auto-process items via mail.  however there's shortcomings in the system:
the items for sale must be not unique stamps and letter is needed to send/receive the items catalog and mailbox is needed to get started (we can make post station though) to address the first shortcoming the seller can send items by request instead of using the trade station

    then, without further ado:

    how to buy items:
make sure you have these stuff: [letter, stamp, the item cost the seller require, access to mailbox], a catalog may be helpful hold ONE letter (not the whole stack) in hand then open it, change the mailing mode to trading (marked $ instead of mail) and write recipient as the trade station's name put the appropriate amount of required items in the mail and add appropriate amount of stamp. do note that 1n stamp is required to send the mail and additional 1n for each stack attached right click letter on mailbox to send the letter and then wait for response (instantly most of the time) open mailbox, take the response letter and get the attached bought item tl;dr pics: http://imgur.com/a/zXUsE

This base was built by Craftyguy23 and me (ontario_99). We spent a lot of time on it and hope you guys like it as much as we do!
Because of rendering distance limitations, it is hard to show the size and scale of these buildings in screenshots. This is why I encourage you all to come take a look in-game by doing /town spawn VineGaming2.0 or going to
    X: 4941, Z: 610, Y: 10.
This base has multiple buildings and creations so I will show them one by one, starting off with the main base building:
    http://imgur.com/a/kkkli
Leaving the main base behind, you go outside and follow the paths to the PVP arena and Factory (WIP)
    http://imgur.com/a/SVdjt
Of course, a base would not be complete without magic mods! So we built another building named ''The Venus''.
    http://imgur.com/a/aN8jG
After we built these buildings and systems, things got boring really fast and we needed a new challenge. This is when Kvittaz and Cajun_Turk joined our town. Cajun and Crafty set their goals to PVP domination by doing Witchery and BloodMagic. Since I wasn't really interested in PVP, Kvittaz and I decided to do some fun building projects. This is when we started re-creating places/buildings from our favorite movies, The Lord of the Rings. We built our own version of Barad-Dûr and Erebor. These are both still work in progress, but due to the new 1.10 server I fear they might never be finished
